Using school over-crowding for phone fun

Home

As you probably know, getting access to any kind of school telephone system can be a difficult thing to do.This is going try to help you out a little bit. Here in California, there is a big over-crowding problem in the school system. So to remedy this problem, the schools have brought in "portable classrooms" to help out with all of the kids. All these "portables" are, are just mobile home types of buildings. So this where you can have easier access to phone lines. I noticed this when we went out to go play some hoop. So here is what to do. Look for where the phone wires come into the building. This is where you should have your beige box handy. At the school that I was at, the access panel was right in plain view,so it was pretty easy to get access to the line. Now it might be that the wires are run under the trailer and behind the siding on the bottom. So it would be a good idea to bring a few tools like a screwdriver, a pry bar, and a knife to strip some wire, and other stuff you feel like you need. You might have to pull back some of the siding to get to the phone wires underneath the trailer and you might have to crawl under there to find them.Once you have access to the wires then just hook up your beige box.

Once you get access to the phone system, you can do a few things. One, you can usefully just dial 9 to get an outside line. Then you can make the calls that you like. But take note that more than likely there will be a 900/976 block on that line. And in some rare cases there will be a block on long distance calls. Now something that is VERY RARE, but not impossible, is there might be a block on 800/ 888/877 numbers. So just keep that in mind.

Some other things you can do is to see if you can get on the school intercom. Some times you can hit the "*" key plus some 3 digit number, usually even like 300, 800, or something like that. Also you can just call the other classrooms and see if you can get someone's voicemail or answering machine. But other than that, that is about it. Who ever thought school could be fun?
